Exchequer of Normandy
The Exchequer of Normandy was the financial and judicial court of the duchy of Normandy, sitting at Caen under the Anglo-Norman kings. Like the English Exchequer, it audited the accounts of local officials, and its earliest surviving roll dates from 1180. After the French conquest of 1204 it continued as the supreme court of Normandy and developed into the Parlement of Rouen in the early sixteenth century.
