Filocalo Navigajoso

d. c. 1214 · 13th century

Filocalo Navigajoso was a Venetian noble who seized the Aegean island of Lemnos around 1207, during the Latin division of Byzantine lands after the Fourth Crusade. The Latin emperor named him megadux, grand admiral of the Latin Empire, a title his descendants kept. His family held Lemnos as a fief until the Byzantines recovered the island around 1278.
