First Macedonian War

214–205 BCE · 3rd century BCE

The First Macedonian War was fought between Rome and Philip V of Macedon, who had allied with Hannibal during the Second Punic War. Rome left most of the fighting to its Greek allies of the Aetolian League, while Roman fleets raided the coasts, sacking Dyme in 208 BCE. The Peace of Phoenice in 205 BCE ended the war without decisive result.
