First Mongol invasion of Burma
The First Mongol invasion of Burma was the series of campaigns from 1277 to 1287 by the Yuan dynasty of Kublai Khan against the Pagan Kingdom. After a battle at Ngasaunggyan (1277) and further invasions, Mongol forces reached the Pagan heartland in 1287; the kingdom broke apart after King Narathihapate was assassinated, ending more than two centuries of Pagan rule over the Irrawaddy valley.
