Flintshire
Flintshire is a county in north-east Wales on the southern shore of the Dee estuary, bordering England, with its administrative centre at Mold. It was created in 1284 by the Statute of Rhuddlan after Edward I's conquest of Wales, and Flint Castle was one of his first Welsh fortresses. Lead and coal mining and later heavy industry shaped its economy.
