River Dee, Wales
The River Dee rises in Snowdonia and flows through Bala Lake, Llangollen and the English city of Chester before entering the Irish Sea through a broad estuary between the Wirral and Flintshire. For much of its course it forms or follows the border between England and Wales. The Romans built their fortress of Deva at Chester on its banks.
