River Dee, Aberdeenshire

The River Dee in north-east Scotland rises in the Cairngorm mountains and flows east for about 140 kilometres past Braemar and Balmoral to the North Sea at Aberdeen. Its valley, Deeside, has been a royal holiday area since Queen Victoria bought Balmoral in the 19th century. The river is famous for its salmon fishing.
