Aberdeenshire
Aberdeenshire is a council area and historic county of north-east Scotland, lying between the Grampian mountains and the North Sea around the city of Aberdeen. In Roman times it was the land of the Taexali, and it later formed part of the kingdom of the Picts, whose symbol stones are especially numerous there. It is rich in recumbent stone circles and castles.
