Foligno

Foligno is a town in Umbria, central Italy, in the plain below Assisi on the old Via Flaminia. A medieval commune and rival of Perugia, it was ruled by the Trinci family from 1305 until the papacy took it in 1439. The first printed edition of Dante's Divine Comedy was produced there in 1472.
