Fort Príncipe da Beira is a large stone fortress on the right bank of the Guaporé river, in the Brazilian state of Rondônia, built by the Portuguese between 1776 and 1783. It guarded the western frontier of Mato Grosso against Spain and was one of the largest fortifications of colonial Brazil. Remote and later abandoned, it survives largely intact.
