Fortore

The Fortore is a river of southern Italy, about 110 km long, rising in the Apennines of Campania and flowing north-east through Molise and Apulia to the Adriatic. Its valley formed the south-eastern limit of the land of the Frentani in antiquity. The Occhito dam on its course forms one of the largest reservoirs in southern Italy.
