Larino

Also known as Larinum

Larino is a town in the province of Campobasso in Molise, southern Italy. As Larinum it was the chief town of the Larinates, a people sometimes counted among the Frentani, and became a Roman municipium; it was the home town of Aulus Cluentius, whom Cicero defended in 66 BCE. Its Roman amphitheatre and medieval cathedral survive.
