Molise
Molise is a region of southern Italy, between Abruzzo, Lazio, Campania and Apulia, with its capital at Campobasso. In antiquity its mountains were the heart of the Samnites, while the Frentani held its coastal hills. Long part of the Kingdom of Naples, it was joined to Abruzzo after Italian unification and became a separate region in 1963, the second smallest in Italy.
