François Coillard
François Coillard was a French Protestant missionary of the Paris Evangelical Missionary Society. After two decades in Lesotho he travelled north and in 1886 began a mission among the Lozi of Barotseland, founding stations at Sefula and Lealui. He became an adviser to Lewanika and encouraged him to seek British protection, a decision that led to the concessions of 1890.
