Frösön

Frösön is an island in the lake Storsjön in Jämtland, central Sweden, opposite the town of Östersund. Its name derives from the god Frey, and it was a pre-Christian cult centre and the meeting place of the Jamtamót, the assembly of the self-governing Jämtland farmers. It holds the Frösö Runestone, which records the region's conversion.
