Fruela II of Asturias

c. 875–925 · 10th century · Also known as Fruela II of León

Fruela II was king of Asturias from 910 and of León from 924 until his death in 925. A son of Alfonso III the Great, he received Asturias when his father's realm was divided among his sons, and on the death of his brother Ordoño II he took the throne of León, reuniting the inheritance. His short reign was followed by a succession dispute among his nephews and sons.
