Fruttuaria Abbey

1003 · 11th century

Fruttuaria Abbey was a Benedictine monastery at San Benigno Canavese in Piedmont, founded in 1003 by the reformer William of Volpiano with the support of Arduin of Ivrea, who retired there before his death in 1015. Its Cluniac-style reform spread to many monasteries in Germany, such as Siegburg and St Blasien.
