Gangaraja
Gangaraja was the leading general and minister of the Hoysala king Vishnuvardhana, who captured Talakad from the Cholas in 1116. A devout Jain, he restored and endowed many Jain shrines, especially at Shravanabelagola, where numerous inscriptions record his donations and his military deeds.
