Gassantoda Castle

Also known as Gassan-Toda Castle, Gassan Toda Castle

Gassantoda Castle was a mountain castle at Hirose in Izumo province, now part of Yasugi in Shimane Prefecture, Japan. As the seat of the Amago clan it withstood a siege by the Ōuchi in 1542–1543 but fell to Mōri Motonari in 1566 after a long siege. It was abandoned in the early 17th century when the lords of Izumo moved to Matsue, and only earthworks and stone walls remain.
