Amago clan
The Amago clan was a Japanese warrior family that rose from deputy governors of Izumo province for the Kyōgoku into one of the leading daimyō houses of western Honshu. Under Amago Tsunehisa and his grandson Haruhisa they ruled from Gassantoda Castle and contested the San'in and San'yō regions with the Ōuchi and Mōri. Mōri Motonari conquered them in 1566, and their retainer Yamanaka Yukimori failed to restore the clan.
