Lake Shinji
Lake Shinji is a brackish lake in Shimane Prefecture in western Japan and one of the largest lakes in the country. Linked to the Sea of Japan through Lake Nakaumi, it lies beside the city of Matsue, whose castle was built near its shore in the early seventeenth century. It is known for its sunsets and its shijimi clams.
