Geum River

Also known as Geumgang

The Geum River is one of the major rivers of South Korea, flowing about 400 kilometres from North Jeolla through Daejeon and South Chungcheong to the Yellow Sea near Gunsan. Its valley held Ungjin (Gongju) and Sabi (Buyeo), the later capitals of Baekje. In 660 a Tang fleet landed at its mouth to destroy Baekje, and the Battle of Baekgang of 663 was fought nearby.
