Gifu

Gifu is a city in central Japan, capital of Gifu Prefecture, on the Nagara river. Known as Inabayama, it was the castle town of the Saito lords of Mino until Oda Nobunaga captured it in 1567 and renamed it Gifu, making it his base for the advance on Kyoto. It is famous for cormorant fishing on the Nagara.
