Green Vault
The Green Vault (Grünes Gewölbe) in Dresden is the treasury museum of the Saxon electors, created by Augustus the Strong between 1723 and 1730 in rooms of Dresden Castle. It displays one of the largest collections of precious objects in Europe, including works by the court jeweller Johann Melchior Dinglinger. A theft of eighteenth-century jewellery from it in 2019 drew worldwide attention.
