Guadalentín

Also known as Guadalentin

The Guadalentín is a river of south-eastern Spain, a tributary of the Segura, flowing through Lorca and the region of Murcia. Its valley has been irrigated since Roman and Islamic times, and Lorca's hilltop castle guarded it as a frontier stronghold between Castile and the Emirate of Granada. The river is prone to sudden, destructive floods.
