Aledo
Aledo is a small town in the region of Murcia, Spain, on a rocky spur of the Sierra Espuña. Its castle was taken by Castile in 1086 and served García Jiménez as a raiding base deep in Muslim territory. In 1088 the Almoravid ruler Yusuf ibn Tashfin and the taifa kings besieged it without success, and their quarrels during the siege helped persuade him to depose the taifa rulers.
