Guéréda

Guéréda is a town in the Wadi Fira region of eastern Chad, near the border with Sudan. It is the main centre of the Tama people and of the former sultanate of Dar Tama, which was set up in the surrounding hills by the 17th century and later fell under the influence of Wadai. The area was affected by the fighting and refugee movements of the Darfur conflict in the 2000s.
