Tama people
The Tama are a people of eastern Chad and western Darfur in Sudan, living mainly in the hills around Guéréda. They speak Tama, one of the Taman languages of the Eastern Sudanic family, and are mostly farmers and herders. By the 17th century they had formed the sultanate of Dar Tama, which was often subject to the stronger neighbouring sultanates of Wadai and Darfur.
