Guizhou

Guizhou is a mountainous province of south-western China, with Guiyang as its capital. Home to many non-Han peoples such as the Miao, Buyei and Dong, it lay in ancient times within the lands of Yelang and other south-western kingdoms. It became a regular province under the Ming dynasty in 1413 and remains one of China's poorer regions.
