Gulf of Baratti
The Gulf of Baratti is a small bay on the Tuscan coast of Italy, north of Piombino, below the Etruscan city of Populonia. Its shore holds the main necropolis of Populonia, where great tumulus tombs were buried under slag from the iron furnaces that smelted ore from Elba. It is now part of an archaeological park.
