Guy II of Blois

d. 1397 · 14th century · Also known as Guy II of Châtillon

Guy II was the last count of Blois of the House of Châtillon, ruling from 1381. Heavily in debt and left without an heir after the death of his son, he sold the county in 1391 to Louis, Duke of Orléans, brother of Charles VI, who took possession at Guy's death in 1397. Blois thus passed to the Orléans branch of the royal family and later to the crown.
