Meaux
Meaux is a town on the Marne east of Paris, in the Île-de-France region of France. It began as Iatinum, the chief town of the Gallic Meldi, and became a bishopric in late antiquity. In the Middle Ages it was the seat of the counts of Meaux, later joined to the county of Champagne, and its most famous bishop was the seventeenth-century preacher Jacques-Bénigne Bossuet.
