Hadith
Hadith are reports of the sayings, actions and approvals of the Prophet Muhammad, transmitted through chains of narrators. Together with the Quran they form a principal source of Islamic law and practice. In the Rashidun Caliphate, the Prophet's example guided the early caliphs' approach to government and law.
