Halkyn Mountain
Halkyn Mountain is a limestone upland in Flintshire, north-east Wales, rich in veins of lead ore. The ore was mined from Roman times, when inscribed lead pigs from the area name the local Deceangli, until the 20th century, and the hill is scarred by old shafts and spoil heaps. Much of it is common land and a protected landscape.
