Häme Castle
Häme Castle is a medieval brick and stone castle in Hämeenlinna, southern Finland. Tradition links its founding to the Swedish expedition of Birger Jarl to Tavastia around 1249, though the present building dates mainly from the late 13th and 14th centuries. It served as a seat of Swedish royal power in inland Finland and later as a prison, and is now a museum.
