Herrenhausen Gardens

The Herrenhausen Gardens in Hanover, Germany, surround the former summer palace of the electors of Hanover. The Great Garden, one of the most important Baroque formal gardens in Europe, was laid out from 1666 and much enlarged under Electress Sophia, who took a close interest in it, between 1680 and 1714. The palace was destroyed in 1943 and rebuilt in 2013.
