Herstal

Herstal is a town on the Meuse just north of Liège, Belgium. In the early Middle Ages it was a residence of the Carolingian family, the home of Pepin of Herstal, and from the early modern period it was a centre of arms manufacture, home since 1889 of the Fabrique Nationale (FN Herstal).
