Hieronymus of Cardia

c. 354–c. 250 BCE · 3rd century BCE

Hieronymus of Cardia was a Greek general, statesman and historian who served Eumenes and then the Antigonid kings Antigonus I, Demetrius Poliorcetes and Antigonus II Gonatas. His history of the Successors of Alexander the Great, from 323 BCE to at least the death of Pyrrhus in 272 BCE, is lost, but it was the main source of Diodorus Siculus, Plutarch and Arrian on the period and is regarded as highly reliable.
