Histiaea
Histiaea was an ancient Greek city in northern Euboea, controlling the strait facing Thessaly. After it revolted against Athens in 446 BCE, Pericles expelled its inhabitants and replaced them with Athenian settlers, and the town became known as Oreus. Later it changed hands among Athens, Sparta and Macedon and joined the Euboean League.
