Hizen Province
Hizen Province was an old province of Japan in north-western Kyushu, covering modern Saga Prefecture and most of Nagasaki Prefecture. In the 16th century it was the base of the Ryuzoji and of the Christian Arima and Omura families, and its port of Nagasaki became the centre of Portuguese and later Dutch trade. Under the Tokugawa it was divided among several domains, the largest being Saga under the Nabeshima.
