Hudson Bay
Hudson Bay is a large inland sea in north-eastern Canada. It became the domain of the English Hudson's Bay Company's fur trade from the late seventeenth century. France recognised British claims to the region in the Treaty of Utrecht of 1713, an early gain in the foundation of the British Empire in North America.
