Il Caffè
Il Caffè was a periodical produced in Milan from June 1764 to May 1766 by Pietro Verri, his brother Alessandro and their circle, including Cesare Beccaria. Modelled on English journals such as The Spectator, it discussed economics, law, science and literature in a lively style. It became a leading voice of the Italian Enlightenment and of reform in Austrian Lombardy.
