Ilorin
Ilorin is a city in west-central Nigeria that was originally a provincial centre of the Oyo Empire. Its revolt in the early nineteenth century, followed by its incorporation into the Sokoto Caliphate, contributed to the collapse of Oyo. It became an emirate serving as a southern base for the caliphate.
