Indo-Pakistani War of 1965
The Indo-Pakistani War of 1965 was fought between India and Pakistan from August to September 1965. It began with Operation Gibraltar, an attempt by Pakistan to infiltrate fighters into Jammu and Kashmir, and widened into large tank battles in Punjab. A United Nations ceasefire ended the fighting, and the Tashkent Declaration of January 1966 restored the prewar positions.
