Ingrian War

1610–1617 · 17th century

The Ingrian War was fought between Sweden and the Tsardom of Russia during and after Russia's Time of Troubles. Swedish troops occupied Novgorod in 1611, and Sweden supported a Swedish candidate for the Russian throne. The Treaty of Stolbovo of 1617 returned Novgorod but gave Sweden Ingria and Kexholm, cutting Russia off from the Baltic Sea.
