Ishar-Damu

24th century BCE · 24th century BCE

Ishar-Damu was the last king of Ebla documented in the archives of its palace, reigning in the twenty-fourth century BCE. He came to the throne young, and his viziers Ibrium and Ibbi-Zikir directed much of the government and led its wars, including a conflict with Mari. Soon after his reign the palace was burned, which preserved the clay tablets of the archive.
