Isidoro Midel
Isidoro Midel was a Filipino revolutionary leader in Zamboanga during the Philippine Revolution. After Vicente Alvarez was ousted amid factional rivalries, Midel headed the government of the Republic of Zamboanga in 1899 and negotiated with the Americans. He surrendered Zamboanga to United States forces in November 1899, after which a local government under American supervision kept the republic's name for a few years.
