Zamboanga City

Also known as Zamboanga

Zamboanga City is a port on the western tip of the Zamboanga Peninsula in Mindanao, in the southern Philippines. Spain built Fort Pilar there in 1635 as its main stronghold against the Moro sultanates of Mindanao and Sulu. Its Christian population speaks Chavacano, a Spanish-based creole language.
