Islamic Golden Age
The Islamic Golden Age refers to a period of flourishing science, philosophy, literature and art in the Islamic world, conventionally associated with the Abbasid Caliphate from the eighth century. Scholars in centres such as Baghdad translated and extended Greek, Persian and Indian learning. Central Asian cities later ruled by the Chagatai Khanate had been important centres of this tradition.
