Italian Somaliland

Also known as Somaliland

Italian Somaliland was an Italian colony on the Indian Ocean coast of the Horn of Africa, in present-day Somalia. It was one of the earliest acquisitions of the Italian Empire and later part of Italian East Africa. After the Second World War it was administered by Italy as a United Nations trust territory before independence in 1960.
